Time is elastic.
Every time you hit the shutter, it also hits you like a loud tick of the clock, and it activates your perception of time for a moment.
In the gradation and iteration of a photo series, time is compressed, and stretched.
Unlike the other volumes in this series, this volume consists of a pair of counterparts (in terms of concepts, content and layout) that are eventually unified.
.
A Continuity
A sunset seen from the 54-floor of Tokyo. While the photographing spanned one and a half hours, the gradation of shades in the photos is so smooth that it doesn’t feel like such a long time.
.
B Transience
Two experiences with respective sets of photos, each taken within several minutes or even seconds with only subtle differences.
That so many images were generated in a single moment reveals the capacity of time to be stretched longer than it really is.
